“We had one place that they couldn’t open their precinct boxes, supplies, but luckily, the district supervisor had a relative nearby. He went and got some bolt cutters and just cut the padlock right off so they could set up,” Jensen said.

But she said it was nothing they couldn’t handle.

Voting booths set up, polls opened, and voters let their voices be heard.

“It’s important to be involved, especially in the primary, because a lot of people think it doesn’t matter, but it does,” Ann Bauer said.

“It opens up a lot of doors and a lot of opportunities to really pick and choose which candidates you want going and representing you in all the important houses,” Giovani Perez said.

Concerns spread across the board, but voters appear focused on domestic issues.

“Private law enforcement, especially presidential goons, that are currently raiding our neighborhoods and terrorizing a bunch of children and families alike, as well as the affordability crisis in the United States,” Perez said.

“Honestly, women’s rights. I care about us actually having the choice whether we’re going to be able to have an abortion or not,” Patricia Lynn said.

No matter the issue, voters push each other to go to the polls.

“Voting is your job. You are a citizen of the United States of America. You’re entitled to vote. Do your job,” Ann Pullum said.

Several of the voters KETV spoke with were dropping off mail-in ballots.

They said it’s their preference because it allows them more time to research candidates and choose those who best align with their views.
