Cars, motorcycles and a good cause came together Sunday as the Midlands Humane Society hosted its ninth annual Wags & Wheels fundraiser.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —

Cars, motorcycles, and a good cause came together Sunday as the Midlands Humane Society hosted its ninth annual Wags & Wheels fundraiser at Iowa Western Community College.

The event brought car and bike enthusiasts together with animal lovers and families for an afternoon aimed at raising money and awareness for the humane society.

Vehicles from different eras were on display throughout the event. Motorcycles officially joined the show for the first time this year, expanding the annual fundraiser beyond cars.

Organizers said Wags & Wheels is the Midlands Humane Society’s second-largest annual fundraiser and helps support the organization’s work in the community.

“The purpose of Wags & Wheels is, one, to bring awareness to the society and what we do in the community, whether it’s adoptions or reuniting pets with their owners or even just our pet licensing that we offer, while also just raising funds and having a good time with everybody wanting to show off their cars,” said Mariah Garcia with the Midlands Humane Society.

Organizers said the event provides a way to bring different parts of the community together while supporting the animals and services provided by the Midlands Humane Society.
