A couple of kids got quite the shock off Massachusetts waters when a shark latched onto a fish they were reeling in.
The crazy catch happened near Monomy Island, just off Cape Cod on Saturday.

The captain of the boat said the shark hung around for a pretty long time after enjoying the snack.
Researchers said Cape Cod remains one of the few white shark “hotspots” in the Northwest Atlantic and has become a critical area for studying the species because sharks return there predictably each summer and fall to feed on seals, according to Winton.
“Cape Cod emerged as this seasonal aggregation site about 15 years ago,” said AWSC senior scientist Megan Winton.
The public can report sightings and stay informed on shark activity through the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app.
