This whole plaza, and I always try to pull through because otherwise, it’s hard to get out. So I don’t know what that parking lot is going to be. Hopefully it will be better,” said Gaby Vonhouten.Others hope for a solution to fill the need for a downtown grocery store.”We do need more options in east Omaha as well,” said Snow. “I think the market is there. But I also feel like any expansion in the area there means they’re paying attention to us. So hopefully they’re looking at east Omaha.”We asked the city about the new store and what it signals for Omaha. In a statement, Mayor John Ewing Jr. said it will bring new jobs and development.
