Wisconsin reportedly working to hire former Nebraska Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst

MADISON, Wis. —

Wisconsin is working to hire Shawn Eichorst as the university’s new athletic director, according to multiple reports.

Eichorst is currently the deputy athletic director and chief operating officer at Texas. ESPN’s Pete Thamel first reported the news, which was confirmed by On3.

Eichorst served as Nebraska’s athletic director from 2012 to 2017.

He also led the athletic departments at Miami from 2011 to 2012 and Wisconsin-Whitewater from 1999 to 2003.

Eichorst was also Wisconsin’s deputy athletic director, serving under Barry Alvarez. He joined the Badgers in 2006 as a senior associate athletic director.
