BIZARRE CASE. DAVID BIZARRE INDEED. JESSICA. THE WOMAN WAS FACING DRUNK DRIVING AND SHOPLIFTING CHARGES AND HAD REPEATEDLY FAILED TO SHOW UP IN COURT FOR THOSE CHARGES. PROSECUTORS SAY WHEN 35 YEAR-OLD SHANNON WILSON DID EVENTUALLY SHOW UP, SHE CLAIMED TO HAVE BRAIN CANCER AND ONLY MONTHS TO LIVE. THEY SAY SHE WENT SO FAR AS TO PRODUCE A FORGED DEATH CERTIFICATE FROM RHODE ISLAND TO HAVE THE CHARGES DISMISSED FROM IRELAND. SHE LIED DIRECTLY TO NUMEROUS JUDGES. SHE LIED TO COUNCIL. SHE LIED TO HER EX-FIANCE. THIS IS SOMEBODY THAT IS CLEARLY A FLIGHT RISK. THAT WILL DO JUST ABOUT. SHE’LL DO ANYTHING TO GET OUT OF A CHARGE, INCLUDING FAKING HER OWN DEATH. HIGHLIGHTED THROUGHOUT. NOW, WILSON’S DEFENSE ATTORNEY SAYS SHE IS NOT THE ONE THAT FAKED HER DEATH, THAT IT WAS, IN FACT, HER BOYFRIEND AT THE TIME. THAT BOYFRIEND IS NOT CURRENTLY FACING ANY CRIMINAL CHARGES. WILSON HAS ALSO BEEN INDICTED, HAS BEEN INDICTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES, INCLUDING PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION TO AUTHORITIES AND OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. A Massachusetts woman is accused of faking her own death to avoid drunken driving and shoplifting charges, prosecutors said.Shannon Wilson, 44, repeatedly failed to appear in court and, when she did, claimed she had cancer and only months to live, according to prosecutors. “She lied directly to numerous judges. She lied to counsel. She lied to her ex-fiancé,” said Alexander Zane, assistant district attorney. Prosecutors said Wilson went as far as producing a forged death certificate to have the charges dismissed.”This is somebody that is clearly a flight risk, that will do just about — she’ll do anything to get out of a charge, including faking her own death,” Zane said. Wilson’s attorney argued that she was not the one who faked her death, claiming it was her boyfriend at the time. That boyfriend is not currently facing any charges. Wilson has been indicted on multiple charges, including providing false information and obstruction of justice. The judge has ordered Wilson to remain in custody while awaiting trial on a $50,000 bail.
