Man arrested after woman shot on I-80 in Council Bluffs, police say
One woman was taken to the hospital, and a man is in custody after a shooting along I-80 in Council Bluffs on Monday afternoon.
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —
One woman was taken to the hospital, and a man is in custody after a shooting along I-80 in Council Bluffs on Monday afternoon.
The Council Bluffs Police Department was called to the University of Nebraska Medical Center around 3 p.m. for a woman who walked into the emergency room suffering a gunshot wound.

The victim told officers that she was driving along I-80 westbound near South 24th Street when she noticed her ex-boyfriend driving next to her. That’s when the victim stated she heard several gunshots fired, one of which struck her in the shoulder, according to Council Bluffs police.
The woman drove to a friend’s house, who drove her to the hospital. The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The CBPD confirmed that the suspect is a 40-year-old male, but they’re not identifying him at this time. He’s been booked on charges of attempted murder, violation of a no-contact order and other weapons charges.
