Benson citizen receives Year of The Neighbor Award from Omaha mayor

OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. is recognizing residents during his “Year of the Neighbor” initiative.

On Friday, he chose to honor resident Angie Norman for the month of June.

The Dahlia House owner in Benson was awarded with a key to the city for welcoming tourists during the College World Series.

Norman’s neighbor accepted on her behalf and said her passion is contagious.

This Airbnb is an extension of her kindness and her love that she has for the community. She’s always shared her flowers and she loves gardening. She’s there from sunup to sundown, just making sure that the community has a beautiful space to feel proud of,” said Norman.

This month’s focus for his “Year of The Neighbor” initiative is small business.
