Council Bluffs Fire is investigating a house fire near Lincoln Avenue and Park Lane that heavily damaged a home just before midnight on Saturday. Assistant Chief Chris Sorensen said 911 calls reported a house fire with explosions. “There were fireworks involved, and it’s undetermined right now whether the fireworks started the fire or the fireworks went off as a result of a previous fire elsewhere in the house,” Sorensen said. Sorensen said the house is a total loss. Firefighters remain on scene to monitor for hot spots after part of the roof collapsed. The person who was inside the home escaped safely and went to stay with relatives.
