The sheriff’s office said thanks to the swift actions, training, and determination of Deputy Jordan Stevenson and Deputy Connor O’Shields, a little girl was given a chance to keep living her story.

The post on Facebook read in part:

“When deputies answer calls, they never know what they will encounter. Some days it’s enforcing the law. Some days it’s helping someone in need. And some days, it’s standing between life and death.

“The actions of Deputy Stevenson and Deputy O’Shields exemplify the kind of men and women who wear the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office badge. Their professionalism, quick thinking, and commitment to serving others made all the difference when seconds mattered most.

“Today, we are grateful. Grateful for a positive outcome. Grateful for the training that prepared these deputies. And grateful for two deputies whose actions remind us why this profession matters.

“Great job, Deputy Jordan Stevenson and Deputy Connor O’Shields. Your service made a difference that will last a lifetime.”
