Flood addressed the House floor saying the following:
“Last Friday, as I was participating in the annual ‘La Vista Days’ celebration, the Papillion Police Department responded to an active shooter at a shopping center just down the road. Officers located the suspect and began a pursuit that ended in a busy parking lot nearby, where officers opened fire. The threat was neutralized, and any injuries to the public or law enforcement did not happen. When the community faced an armed gunman, the men and women of the Papillion Police Department, La Vista Police Department, and the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office ran towards danger.”
“Because of their bravery, everybody went home safe. Their courage is a testament to the sacrifices law enforcement officers make every day when they put on the uniform. I am proud to back the blue, and I thank those serving in law enforcement for keeping us safe.”
