Nebraska Extension partners with USDA for informational meetings on wildfire recovery
The Nebraska Extension says the wildfires have burned more acres in March than in any year since 2012.
The Nebraska Extension is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Natural Resources Conservation Service to hold informational meetings on wildfire recovery.The meetings are scheduled for April 8-10 in western Nebraska. It comes as multiple wildfires continue to burn across the state. The largest, the Morrill Fire in Garden County, has burned more than 642,000 acres.The informational meetings will include presentations from Nebraska Extension and federal representatives. They will include wildfire disaster relief programs, technical assistance, grazing and cropping options, recovery resources, mental health support and next steps. Hot Meals USA will also serve a meal. The meetings will be held at the following locations, between 3:30 and 6 p.m. local time: April 8, Arthur Veterans Memorial HallApril 9, Brady Community CenterApril 10, Oshkosh City Auditorium Nebraska Extension is also offering resources on its website.
