Iowa State Patrol hands out violations after semitruck ends up in a ditch

Questionable decisions led to a semitruck crashing into a ditch along Interstate 80.
The crash happened this past week.

The Iowa State Patrol said a passenger who did not have a CDL started driving while the semi-truck driver was sleeping.
During the investigation, troopers say the driver’s CDL was suspended.
Numerous violations and out-of-service violations were issued.
