BANGOR, Maine —

Lil Wayne did not appear for a concert he was billed to headline at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor, and the Grammy-winning rapper has now rescheduled that show.

The thousands of attendees for Tuesday’s concert, which kicked off the rapper’s latest tour, “20+ years of Carter Classics,” were notified around 11 p.m. that Lil Wayne would not be performing at the waterfront venue that night.

Waterfront Concerts President Alex Gray apologized to the crowd, saying that this had never happened to them before after 251 shows, according to WABI.

Gray said the venue asked the city for a curfew extension and did everything in their power to make the show happen.

2 Chainz, another Grammy-winning rapper, performed as scheduled as the opening act. A DJ then played for several hours before the crowd was dismissed.

Lil Wayne later added a post to his Facebook and Instagram stories that stated the Bangor concert is being rescheduled for July 28.

Lil Wayne performs during the 2026 BottleRock festival at Napa Valley Expo on May 22, 2026, in Napa, California.

“My Maine fans, I’m so sorry,” Lil Wayne wrote in the social media post. “Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honored for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.

“I ain’t [expletive] without you. I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve,” the rapper added.

The Maine Savings Amphitheater was the first stop of the “20 Years of Carter Classics” tour, which is considered an extension of Lil Wayne’s 2025 The Carter VI Tour.

Lil Wayne’s next performance is scheduled for Thursday at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York. On Friday, he is scheduled to perform at BankNH Pavilion in Guilford, New Hampshire.

In a Facebook post promoting Friday’s Lil Wayne concert, BankNH Pavilion wrote: “Current schedule, subject to change.”
