Nebraska auditor finds WIC benefits went to 10 dead people in state program review
LINCOLN, Neb. —
Nebraska’s state auditor found deficiencies in the state’s WIC program, including benefits going to 10 people who were dead.
According to a new report, Auditor Mike Foley said while no purchases were made using the 10 people’s benefits, there was a risk of the EBT cards being stolen or misused.

Foley also said 11 state workers and one University of Nebraska employee received WIC benefits, despite making more than $60,000 per year.
He said one of those workers had an annual household income of more than $138,000.
The university said it has no comment at this time.
KETV also reached out to the Department of Health and Human Services for a response, but we have not heard back at this time.
