Burrus also pleaded guilty to a felony weapons charge and had two other charges dropped as a result.
Investigators say Darren Greer, 18, died at the hospital after being shot in December 2025 near N. 61st Street and Bedford Avenue. Police arrested Kashmiere Burse, 19, on first-degree murder charges just a few days later.
In his first court appearance, prosecutors said Burse told officers the plan was to buy vape cartridges from Greer. They alleged that Burse and two others walked up to Greer’s car and opened fire.
Burrus and a 14-year-old boy were arrested a few days later in connection to the killing.
Burrus’ sentencing is scheduled for September 24.
Burse was supposed to have a jury trial begin this week, but that has been continued. His next court date is now scheduled for July 24.
