Omaha Mayor John Ewing, Jr. awarded $54,520 in grants to 16 neighborhood or community groups on Friday. The mayor’s office said each grant award ranged from $2,500 to $5,000. They said the mayor prioritized food security and community engagement this year. A committee reviewed each application to ensure each group had an impact on the neighborhood. “These grants are sprouts that will bloom in our neighborhoods, strengthening our city.
