Omaha police identify 10-year-old, 5-year-old killed in crash involving suspected drunk driver

OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha police identified the two children who were killed after a crash last week involving a suspected drunk driver.

The crash happened Thursday near 114th Street and West Center Road.

According to police, a Subaru Impreza was attempting to turn when it was hit by an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu. The impact of the crash ripped the Subaru in half.

Omaha police said 10-year-old Prestin Strassenburg and 5-year-old Zaiden Strassenburg were killed as a result of the crash.

Tanner Hunt faces multiple charges in the crash. Hunt made his first court appearance earlier this week.

Prosecutors said Hunt was driving at about 98 mph one second before the impact and had a blood alcohol level of .095.
