Omaha police are investigating a shooting early Wednesday morning that left one man dead and another critically injured. Officers first responded to a shooting call near North Saddle Creek Road and Charles Street shortly after 1 a.m., but they didn’t find anyone at the scene. Police used their helicopter to find vehicles potentially involved in the shooting, which led them to North 48th Avenue and Nicholas Street, about a mile away. Omaha police found two men, one of whom died at the scene. Paramedics took the other man to the hospital with critical injuries. Omaha police Lieutenant Sean Sheridan told KETV he didn’t think the shooting happened at either location. Officers are searching for the scene and possible suspects.
