Thursday Storm Chances
As of Wednesday morning, storm chances will increase early Thursday with a likely weakening line of storms moving through eastern Nebraska. Showers and a few rumbles of thunder are possible for the morning commute. Expecting some dry time in the middle of the day before another round of storms is possible in the afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center’s severe weather outlook has most of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa in a marginal risk for severe activity. Maybe one or two storms could have hail and wind potential, but the overall severe threat is low.
Friday Strong Storm Potential
As of Wednesday morning, the Storm Prediction Center’s severe weather outlook has most of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa in a slight risk for severe activity mainly in the evening. Expect a drier morning with storm chances increasing in the later afternoon and early evening as a cold front approaches. Large hail and 60-plus mile per hour wind gusts would be the main threats with any stronger storms, but also can’t rule out a brief tornado.
