Pat Sajak posts video update on life after ‘Wheel of Fortune’ retirement
Well, Pat and Vanna, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. I had *** show called Weeknight that was opposite your program. And the boss said, if you can’t beat Wheel of Fortune, it’s bye bye, baby. And I don’t have that show anymore. So we destroyed another one. Merv said we’re out to get Harry. That’s the main thing that, that we, we did that. We’re, we’re very proud of that accomplishment. How did this show take off? It had been on way before you guys showed up and bam, was it the syndication that did it or what I think it was? I really do because, um, we have been on for many, many years, but the syndication definitely has added more people to our lives or us, to them. Yeah. Yeah, it’s been, it’s been *** little crazy but it’s fun. Well, Vanna, you’ve, I think really helped *** lot of women that are on these game shows because of all the publicity you’re getting their, their parts seem to be getting bigger. Did you notice that on the other shows rephrase? That’s *** bad, bad phrasing on that question, Harry. I mean, they have more to do they have more to do? Oh, sure. Absolutely. I think all of us are created equal and, um, I’m just myself on the show and, and thank goodness, Pat introduces me and it’s turned into something otherwise she’d be anonymous. So my saying, her name is very important here is Vanna White. Oh, is everybody up the weatherman now that you’re so successful? Uh, Pat people think that way out here sometimes. I remember when I first started the show and it was, and it was going well, everybody I knew who had ever done weather was being called in to audition for game shows as if that were the secret. Um uh But if you have gone on, uh all people like Willard Doe will always do weather because weather is his life. Ok, Vanna, are you planning on moving on? You? You know, you’re on the cover of Newsweek, you’re in wear your posters. Are you planning on, on trying to branch out now and, and do some other things like acting. Well, Wheel of Fortune is my life. So let me jot that down. No, I’m not leaving Wheel of Fortune for anything. But um if some other things come in, I, I would like to be doing some things but only, only Wheel of Fortune comes first. I have to say that and I’ll be with it till it dies. I know other people have asked you this. Do you get to keep the clothes. No, no, unfortunately not. But I enjoy wearing them. How about you? Pat? You get to keep your clothes. I get to keep her clothes. So it’s an interesting, uh, it’s an interesting thing. No, I don’t. Uh, we, occasionally we’ll take one or two of these outfits out to wear somewhere when we’re too cheap to get our own.
