U-Haul crashes into building in Benson

Business owner electing to relocate after assessing damages

OMAHA, Neb. —

A U-Haul crashed into a building in Benson on Wednesday morning.

Photos showed the vehicle heavily damaged the building, Elegant Mane, located near North 58th Street and Northwest Radial Highway. It’s the second time that the building has been hit in the past several days.

Douglas County officials said they believe the driver had a medical episode. No one was injured.

Officers said the U-Haul bumped into several cars before hitting the building.

Elegant Mane owner Kionna Eston says she’s going to relocate after having insure assess the damages.

“It’s kind of beyond my control, so there’s not really too much I can do,” she said.

According to the 2025 report from Vision Zero, the area is part of a High Injury Network.
