A NEWLY RELEASED A REPORT FROM THE MARTIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DETAILS THE CRASH INVOLVING TIGER WOODS AND A TRUCK WITH A TRAILER DRIVEN BY JEREMY BULLARD ON SOUTH BEACH ROAD. ACCORDING TO INVESTIGATORS, BULLARD WAS SLOWING DOWN AND SIGNALING TO TURN RIGHT INTO A DRIVEWAY WHEN WOODS WAS DRIVING BEHIND HIM, MOVED INTO THE ONCOMING LANE TO GO AROUND, THE REPORT SAYS. HE THEN HIT THE TRAILER, LOST CONTROL, AND HIS SUV FLIPPED ONTO ITS SIDE. WOODS CLIMBED OUT THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE. DEPUTIES SAY THEY NOTICED SIGNS OF IMPAIRMENT WHILE SPEAKING WITH HIM, ACCORDING TO THE REPORT, WOODS TOLD DEPUTIES HE HAD BEEN LOOKING AT HIS PHONE AND CHANGING THE RADIO BEFORE THE CRASH. THE DEPUTY INVESTIGATING THE CASE WROTE THAT WOODS WAS SWEATING PROFUSELY, MOVING SLOWLY AND HAD BLOODSHOT, GLASSY EYES WITH DILATED PUPILS. WOODS DENIED DRINKING ALCOHOL OR USING ILLEGAL DRUGS, BUT TOLD DEPUTIES HE HAD TAKEN PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION EARLIER THAT MORNING, ALONG WITH IBUPROFEN. THE REPORT ALSO SAYS SOME OF THE SOBRIETY EXERCISES WERE MODIFIED AFTER WOODS DESCRIBED LEG AND BACK INJURIES. AFTER THOSE EXERCISES, THE DEPUTY DETERMINED WOODS WAS IMPAIRED AND PLACED HIM UNDER ARREST. THE REPORT ALSO STATES DEPUTIES FOUND TWO HYDROCODONE PILLS IN HIS POCKETS AT THE JAIL. WOODS REGISTERED 0.00 ON TWO BREATH TESTS, BUT INVESTIGATORS SAY HE REFUSED TO PROVIDE A URINE SAMPLE. WE WENT TO BULLARD’S HOME FOR COMMENT. HOWEVER, IT SEEMS NO ONE WAS HOME AT THE TIME.
