Tiny kitten becomes construction company team member after being rescued

BARBERTON, Ohio —

A construction company in Ohio rescued a kitten from an excavator.

River Reach Construction shared a video of the rescue to its social media pages in July, saying they found a kitten stuck in one of their excavators.

“Here’s our rescue mission of the day. Normally it’s a piece of equipment, but it’s this little guy,” Chase Guello, the operating supervisor at River Reach Construction, said in the video.

The kitten could be heard meowing excessively before being rescued by Guello, freeing her from the bottom of the excavator.

The crew named the kitten Sue because the piece of equipment she was found in was from the brand Komatsu.

Guello said they could not find the kitten’s mother and took her to a known kitten foster family, where she was able to get healthy and some much-needed attention.

Since the rescue, Sue has become part of the construction crew’s family and has stolen hearts on the internet, with brands sending in gifts, including an adorable baby kitten-sized vest and hard hat.

Guello said Sue will be cared for by their shop mechanic Jared and his family and will continue to be their “shop cat.”
