Woman critically hurt after being shot in the foot in Omaha

Omaha police said the shooting was not accidental, and the investigation is ongoing.

OMAHA, Neb. —

An Omaha woman is transported to the hospital after being shot in the foot Wednesday night.

Omaha police said the shooting happened at a home near 30th and Whitmore streets. Officers on scene said this was not an accidental shooting.

Lt. Chuck Casey with the Omaha Police Department said the woman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

“We don’t believe there’s any outstanding suspect,” Casey said. “We’re just trying to piece together exactly what happened.”

The investigation is ongoing.
