Actress Minnie Driver says she was in ‘a really bad car accident’ in France

Minnie Driver revealed on her social media page Thursday that she was recently in “a really bad car accident” in France.

The Oscar-nominated British actress, who posted a three-minute video of herself in bed wearing a neck brace, said she sprained her neck in the accident and was thankful the car she was in, a Kia EV2, had 360-degree airbags.

“We crawled out of it, but we did get out of it alive,” Driver said in the video.

Driver said she and a friend, Ben Homewood, were driving on a country road in France when they T-boned a car that didn’t stop at an intersection.

“I’m fine. I’ve got a sprained neck, and I’m really in shock,” she said.

She continued: “I need to celebrate the car that saved us. Because we’ve got families and people who love us. And I’m so grateful to be alive.”

Driver, 56, received an Academy Award nomination for her supporting role in the 1997 film “Good Will Hunting.” More recently, she had a recurring role in the TV show “Emily in Paris.”
