CHI Health breaks ground on new orthopedic center in Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. —
CHI Health is transforming its orthopedic care. On Wednesday, the organization broke ground on their new Lakeside Hills center. This will support patients from their initial diagnosis to recovery.
“This is an exciting time because orthopedic care is entering a period of rapid transformation,” said Dr. Ranjan Gupta, Professor and Chair of Orthopedic Surgery at Creighton University and Medical Director of Orthopedic Surgery for CHI Health.” Patients are experiencing advances in “surgical techniques, biomechanics, biologics, imaging and robotics are changing what’s possible for patients.” This center was created to bring those innovations together in one coordinated environment focused on delivering exceptional care close to home.”

The new center is also designed to serve as the region’s hub for specialized care. This includes services for orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, joint replacement, and other options.
The building will also house the Creighton School of Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Residency program. This area will help train Omaha’s next generation of orthopedic surgeons.
“The vision is to build a nationally connected orthopedic program capable of elevating care throughout the region while delivering an exceptional patient experience,” Dr. Gupta said. “Our responsibility extends beyond surgery to include prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and lifelong bone, joint, and muscle health.”
The ceremony featured a tour of the new facility along with remarks from Mayor John Ewing Jr., physicians, and healthcare executives.
