Omaha thieves target locksmith, steal $10,000 in tools
Omaha police believe there are at least two and as many as four suspects involved in the crime.
OMAHA, Neb. —
Not even a locksmith is safe from determined Omaha thieves.
Surveillance footage captured two suspects stealing locksmith tools worth $10,000 from a van at Keymasters Locksmiths off Leavenworth Street in Omaha on May 27, around 6:30 p.m.

The video shows a white Ford sedan, likely a Ford Fusion, with a covered license plate pulling up to the van. A man wearing shorts and a T-shirt that reads “a full turn in the right direction” is seen shattering the van’s window. He spent about three minutes inside, stealing thousands of dollars in tools.
A second person exited the vehicle to assist, using their T-shirt to cover their face. The suspects returned to the scene about six hours later, and one of them briefly pulled his mask down, revealing his face.
The company owner said he is now out about $10,000 in tools.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
