Lincoln police arrest 30-year-old in child abuse case
Lincoln police said 30-year-old Devon Rejda was arrested Friday, May 29, in connection with injuries to a 23-month-old child who remains in the hospital.
LINCOLN, Neb. —
Lincoln police arrested 30-year-old Devon Rejda on Friday, May 29, in a child abuse and assault case.
He was booked into Lancaster County Jail on child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury and first-degree assault charges.

The investigation began May 1 after Bryan West ER contacted police about a 23-month-old child in critical condition.
Doctors said the child had bruising and a brain bleed and later determined the injuries were consistent with abusive trauma.
Investigators said Rejda, the boyfriend of the child’s mother, was responsible.
The toddler remains hospitalized.
