Community cuts ribbon on River’s Edge additions in Council Bluffs, including treetop walk and pier
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —
A celebration was held at River’s Edge in Council Bluffs where the community cut the ribbon on three new additions to the park.
Those include the Charles E. Lakin Pier, Bormann Family Treetop Walk, and MidAmerican Energy’s Adventure Tower.

Those are expected to open later this summer.
“I think it will be a great benefit to the citizens of the entire area both Omaha and Council Bluffs. Both sides of the river contributed heavily to building these three facilities,” John Nelson, Southwest Iowa Nonprofit for Collective Impact president, said.
The Southwest Iowa Nonprofit for Collective Impact said this is phase four of the River’s Edge expansion.
