Saunders County Sheriff’s Office arrests man accused of shooting, killing his father
ASHLAND, Neb. —
The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office arrested one person who allegedly shot and killed his father.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, there was a report of a shooting near 17th and Dawes streets in Ashland around 4:30 p.m.

Negotiators were called to the scene, and after speaking with the caller and the suspect, the suspect came outside unarmed, deputies said.
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Robert Haswell Jr., was arrested for first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
The man who was killed was identified as 67-year-old Robert Haswell Sr.
Deputies said Haswell Sr. suffered at least one gunshot wound.
