We are just 12 days out from Nebraska’s primary election, and Secretary of State Bob Evnen is ensuring your vote is safe. He is also shutting down any fears of voter suppression.Over 1.2 million Nebraskans were registered to vote as of this April, up by more than 25,000 when compared to the same time in 2025.Evnen, who is running for reelection, touted Nebraska’s secure elections while he participated in county election commissions’ accuracy checks.“This is an important component of election integrity,” Evnen said. “This is an important component in election security to assure that the machines are mechanically sound.”He said that, regardless of President Donald Trump’s comments on election security, Nebraska voter rolls are clean.“The elections in Nebraska are secure. They are accurate,” he said. “Nebraska’s elections are a gold standard for the country.”But he said he understands the purpose of the administration’s executive order, which will govern mail-in voting through the U.S. Postal Service. “ we will be doing is implementing the executive orders in a way that minimizes intrusion to voters, minimizes the inconvenience to voters,” Evnen said.Sarpy County Election Commissioner David Jones spoke on election integrity from the local level.“There’s no question the confidence of the safety and security,” Jones said. “While we’re content, we’re not complacent.
