The most decorated gymnast in history shared a health update on her Instagram stories, saying the incident “was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life.”
In the post, Biles shared a photo of multiple hospital bands on her right arm.
Biles did not reveal additional details about what she was suffering from.
The 7-time gold medalist added she spent the last week in bed resting and thanked her “close circle” who reached out to her.
Earlier this year, Biles revealed she was unsure whether she would compete at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
“I’m really trying to enjoy life, to spend time with my husband (Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens), go support him at his games, live my life as a woman,” she said in an April interview with French sports daily L’Equipe. “I’ve accomplished so much in my sport. For me to come back, it would really have to excite me.”
The 28-year-old said she does plan to be in LA for the games, but in an unknown capacity.
“Whether on the apparatus or in the stands, I still don’t know that,” she told L’Equipe. “But 2028 seems so far away, and my body is aging. I felt it in Paris.”
