UK police investigate allegations of historic child sex abuse following Epstein file release
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick appeared for an interview with the House Oversight Committee to answer about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. He is the highest ranked Trump cabinet official to be named in the case files on Epstein besides the president himself. Lutnick formerly led *** financial services firm and he was neighbors with Epstein in New York City for years. His story about his ties to Epstein has changed, especially as *** lot of scrutiny has been applied to anyone who kept company with Epstein. Last year on *** podcast, Lutnick said that he had decided to never be in the room again with Epstein after he was disturbed by *** tour of Epstein’s home in 2005, but the release of case files on Epstein showed that they actually stayed in contact. Exchanging *** few emails, and they had two other meetings, one in 2012 where Lutnick, along with his family, visited Epstein’s private island for lunch, and then another in 2011 about an hour-long engagement at Epstein’s home. The interview was behind closed doors and there was no video of it. We’ll get *** transcript of it eventually. The lawmakers who were in the interview really emerged with different descriptions of what Lutnick said. Democrats basically said he was lying and he was evading all of their questions, while the Republican chair of the committee, James Comer, said that Lutnick had been forthcoming and really had tried to tell them everything that he knew about his relationship with Epstein.
