Video shows Ohio driver suddenly stopping in lane of busy interstate, causing crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio —

Video posted to social media by the Ohio Department of Transportation shows the moment a driver caused a crash on an interstate.

Footage shows the driver of a red car seemingly stop in the middle of I-670 near Columbus. Other cars stop behind the vehicle, causing other cars to swerve around them, eventually causing a multi-vehicle crash. The driver of the red car can then be seen driving off.

“If you’re confused, new to driving, or just lost, do NOT stop in a travel lane,” the Ohio Department of Transportation said in a Facebook post. “Instead, just safely exit while maintaining the flow of traffic or safely pull over. Sincerely, Your Ohio DOT.”
