PENSACOLA, Fla. —
An ultra-low Blue Angels flyover at a popular Florida beach is under investigation.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels performed the flyover Wednesday morning in Pensacola, a popular beach town on Florida’s Panhandle, during the “Breakfast With the Blues” event.

Video from the scene shows one aircraft flying very low, leaving some beachgoers thrilled and others terrified as the jet passed directly overhead.
According to local news outlets, witnesses report that the flyover produced a “mini tornado” that sent tents and chairs flying.
Even though many on the beach seemed impressed, team leaders with the Blue Angels say they’re reviewing the incident to make sure pilots stuck to strict Navy and FAA safety standards.
Navy officials say the aircraft flew lower than standard profiles.
“The safety of our hometown community, spectators, and our pilots is our highest priority. Team leadership is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the maneuver and conducting a thorough safety review to ensure all operations adhere to strict Navy and FAA safety standards,” the statement reads in part.
