Ohio’s iconic basket-shaped building up for sale for $8.5M

One of Ohio’s most iconic buildings could be yours. The historic basket-shaped Ohio building formerly used by employees of The Longaberger Co. is up for sale.
The uniquely shaped building was used by employees of The Longaberger Co. for two decades before they were moved to another location in July 2016. Longaberger opened the $32 million building in 1997, but later suffered financial problems as sales dropped off.

The company went out of business in May 2018.
In 2021, Ohio state Sen. Jay Hottinger said the building would be turned into a luxury hotel. Now, it’s back up for sale by owners Historic Newark Basket, LLC. This time with a price tag of $8,500,000.
The unique building is located in Newark, Ohio, which is located about 40 miles East of Columbus.
